Hi, I’m Jim and welcome to the Jim Kennedy Leadership Cafe. A little bit of info about me. I am the father of three special needs children. My oldest daughter is deaf and is diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy. My middle and youngest children were adopted from the Carribean Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). They were older children when we adopted them and have developmental delays.
What This Blog is About
I am the author of the book Discerning Gods Purpose: A Fathers Journey from Tragedy to Triumph. It speaks to the tragic set of circumstances that define my start as a father and how I used it to discover my purpose in life that ultimately led to a new calling. After the book was published, many readers wanted to know more about my experiences and the lessons that I learned as a special needs parent. This blog is my way of trying to do just that. I typically write one or two posts a week on a topic related to my role as a Special Needs Dad. Some of my posts you may also see in other places such as HuffPost or the Good Men Project, but others you will only find here. Ultimately, my goal is to serve you.
If you are the parent of a special needs child or have an interest in this topic then this is the place for you. Please sign up to receive my posts directly to your inbox so that you won’t miss a thing. As a Thank You for subscribing, I want to send you the first three chapters of my book free of charge. I know that if you are a parent like me, your time is very valuable. I won’t waste it with pie in the sky theories but I will candidly discuss issues that I have personally faced as a Special Needs Dad. I am not perfect and have had my share of failures but over the course of 17 years, I have faced many different challenges that may be of interest to you. Have a question or a topic that you would like to know more about, email me at Jim@JimKennedyLeadershipCafe.com. I am here to serve.
