Time Well Spent

In today’s society, many people are consumed with their activities at work.  It takes top priority over everything else.  By working hard, living in a nice home, driving a nice car, and having their children attend the best schools, many view this as fulfilling their responsibilities at home.  In addition, many leaders believe that their leadership activities are confined only to work.  Further, they believe that the biggest impact that they can have is to mentor a young colleague.  I say this respectfully – but the biggest leadership impact that anyone can have is at home. Remember Your Purpose

Recently, I received an email from a colleague saying that he had lost his focus professionally.  He had lost some of his passion because of other things that were going on in his life.  All of us feel that way from time to time.   His business has steadily increased and now, as a result, has a lot on his plate.  So much so that at times he feels overwhelmed.  He wasn’t looking for advice but was trying to vent.  I understand that and need to do the same from time to time.  However, in this case, I felt compelled to act.  I told him what I am telling you – Remember your purpose.
